Tuesday 01.10.2013, 11:00 • Fetisov Arena • KHL

    Welcome. Game starts at 11:00.

A very good morning and welcome to www.eurolivescores.com's coverage of today's game between two of the newest teams in the KHL, as Admiral Vladivostok host HC LEV Praha.

Today is HC LEV's third game of their four-game Far Eastern road trip, and the Lions are looking to bounce back after dropping Sunday's game against Sibir Novosibirsk 5-3. With the defeat, the Lions slipped to sixth place in the Western Conference, although they do possess a game in hand over all their rivals. The big news for them today is that Niko Kapanen misses his second game in a row through injury.

It's been a mixed bag for Admiral to start their KHL career. The club currently sits just outside the playoff spots in the Eastern Conference, currently ranked tenth. However, after a long road-trip to start their season, the club have begun life at the Fetisov Arena positively, picking up victories in the last two games.

Both teams take to the ice at the Fetisov Arena

The national anthems are currently being played

Lesukhin ices the puck for Admiral. No chances for either team in front of goal yet

    01:39
Good pressure by Lev's third line. Kubalik does well to get the puck to the point. Mikus' shot is blocked though. Admiral ice the puck again

    02:37
O'Byrne shoots wide with a wrister. Lev still have Admiral pinned in their zone

    03:09
Sevc stands up Gynge at the blueline, winning the puck for Lev

    03:44
Vehanen gets his first taste of action, covering a slow moving dump in directed at his net

    04:16
Sekac is felled in the neutral zone by two Admiral players. It gives Thornberg a chance to gain the zone, but his wrist shot goes off a leg and over the glass.

    04:41
A great hit on the half boards by Kubalik wins the puck back for Lev. Ridderwall is denied by a smart blocker save by Lundstrom

    04:49
Interference penalty coming against Ternavsky for Admiral Vladivostok.

    06:21
Twenty seconds left on the penalty. Nothing really created by Lev on their first powerplay

    Home team at full strength.

    07:06
Sokolov wires a slapshot but Vehanen makes a somewhat unconvincing save. The rebound was there for the taking.

    07:59
Lev go close to opening the scoring after great play down the left wing by Jiri Sekac. The young forward cuts onto his backhand and drives to the net. Lundstrom makes the first save and Martin Thornberg is unable to bury the rebound.

    08:30
Lundstrom covers the puck. Earlier in the shift, Schutz ended up finding himself tangled in Vehanen's net after losing his footing while crashing the net.

    09:29
Oystrick and Humphries combine twice in the space of thirty seconds to knock Igor Bortnikov off the puck.

    09:37
    Goal for Admiral!
It's far too easy for VLADIMIR PERVUSHIN, as the former Avangard Omsk forward out-battles Ryan O'Byrne for the puck, brings the puck from behind the net and fires a laser of a wristshot over Vehanen's left shoulder

    10:52
Ternavsky picks up his second penalty of the period, giving Lev a second man advantage

    11:07
But Lev ice the puck early into the powerplay

    12:21

    12:48
    Admiral back to full strength

    13:09
A beautiful piece of play by Lisin, faking the shot and then trying the wrap around. Somehow Vehanen gets the paddle down to keep the puck from crossing the line.

    17:37
Bergfors hammers a shot from distance which Vehanen gloves with ease.

    18:15
Zemchonyok fires a hard slapshot wide of the mark. Good zonal pressure for Admiral now.

    18:26
Penalty coming against Lev. Ondrej Nemec will sit for two for holding

    19:47
Kubalik shoots wide from the right on a shorthanded rush

    20:00
    1st period finished.

And so finishes the end of a closely fought first period between two teams both looking for a playoff spot. Admiral opened up the scoring through Vladimir Pervushin's 10th minute effort, before Topi Jaakola fired in a slapshot three minutes later. Both teams are 0/2 on the powerplay, while Lev outshot Admiral 16-11 in the first period.

The teams are back for the second period.

    20:01
    Start of 2nd period.

Lev gain the zone for a good spell in the opening minute of the second period, but fail to get any pucks on net.

    22:38
Ridderwall goes close to getting a goal to go with his assist, but the shot goes just wide of the right post.

    24:18
Lev go offside with the puck

A great pad save by Lundstrom kickstarts the counter attack. Felix Schutz is eventually hauled down by Martin Thornberg, who gets the hooking penalty.

    26:57
Mikus does well to get in the way of a Bortnikov effort

    29:15
Great play by Klepis out the box. Good save by Lundstrom on his solo effort.

    31:04
Vehanen makes his best save of the period, flashing the leather to deny Richard Gynge

    31:25
Lev go close to scoring, as Azevedo's effort is stopped unconvincingly by Lundstrom. The puck is there for the taking but the Swede manages to get enough of his body over it.

    31:25
It's another penalty against Ternavsky for Admiral. Powerplay time for Lev

    32:37
Two fantastic saves by Lundstrom to deny Novotny and Cingel

    33:19
Admiral are back to full strength

    34:15
Vrana is denied by Lundstrom. Lev in the ascendancy at the moment.

    34:32
    Goal for Lev!

You can't say it wasn't coming! Great work by Lev to keep the pressure firmly on Admiral, and it's MICHAL REPIK, receiving the pass from Michal Birner who fires in a wrist shot from the left hashmarks

    35:52
Penalty coming against both teams. Marc-Andre Gragnani gets called for hooking Evgeni Grachyov, who then fells Gragnani as he falls. Grachyov is handed a two minute tripping penalty, meaning it's 4 on 4.

    36:07
However, that doesn't last for long. Topi Jaakola gets an interference minor for Lev almost immediately after.

    36:18
Yegor Antropov blazes high on a shot from the left point.

    37:02

    Start of 3rd period.

    41:06
Vehanen covers the puck. Faceoff in the Lev zone

    41:36
Another good piece of play by Bortnikov, who has impressed for Admiral. He goes it alone and forces a save from Vehanen

    42:51
Vrana shoots from an impossible angle, and Lundstrom pads it away

    43:29
A massive scramble in Vehanen's crease. Admiral has 3 or 4 bites of the cherry before Lev can clear.

    44:08
Thornberg shoots wide on the rush

    44:21
Fantastic play by Enver Lisin, bursting into the zone with speed. Gragnani and Nemec do well to force him to turn. He finds Schutz, who then shoots wide

    57:51
Vehanen looked down and out. Viktor Drugov has a golden chance in front of goal but somehow the Admiral forward shoots wide when it looked easier to score.

    59:06
Admiral are throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Vehanen's net. Alexander Kuznetsov deflects a shot from the right wing but Vehanen just gets the toe of his pad to the puck.

    59:16
    Goal for Admiral!

It's been inevitable. Lev have sat back far too much and it's another scramble in front of Vehanen, and with the Finnish goalie on his back, Admiral have equalised. ENVER LISIN tucks the puck in at the back post.
