    The game between Växjö Lakers and Adler Mannheim is one of first games in the whole CHL. The Lakers play in the highest league in Sweden, the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Adler plays in the highest German league, Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).

    Last year The Lakers’ season ended in the semifinals when Färjestad Karlstad went to the finals. Last year Adler’s season ended in the quarterfinals against Kölner Haie. The Lakers’ star players are the goalie Cristopher Nihlstorp and forward Rhett Rakhshani. Adler’s star players are Jochen Hecht and Simon Gamache.
