    Linz's head coach Rob Daum:

    - They were much better than us. They deserved the win and 6-1 is probably fair based on the game.

The first CHL match of the season is placed in Turku, Finland. TPS Turku is head-to-head with a CHL newcomer Black Wings Linz in the group G.

TPS acquired some interesting players during the summer, for example former NHL-players Henrik Tallinder and Éric Perrin arrive in Turku for the new season. Also after spending 15 years in the NHL and Sweden, Tomi Kallio returns to Turku. 38-year-old Kallio, who was born in Turku, is also the new captain of the team.

    - I like the mix we have put together. We have a lot of experience and even more of it later on, when Eric Perrin joins the team. We have a good bunch of eager young guys to accompany the experienced players, a former NHL-goaltender, TPS' GM Antero Niittymäki says.

TPS seems to be a great team on paper, but the team have had some struggles in pre-season games. Turku have played six games this summer and won only two of them. TPS surely has a lot of potential, but there's still much work to do.

    - There has been quite a bit of changes. The team is new, coaching staff is new too. It is still a work in progress, as the pre-season exhibitions have shown, but I believe our strengths will start showing on the ice as the games begin properly, Niittymäki admits.

Black Wings Linz also got a lot of NHL experience as they signed Brett McLean from HC Lugano. McLean played almost 400 NHL games in Chicago, Colorado and Florida.

Linz played their first pre-season game on friday, when München Red Bull beat the team 5-2. Linz is surely hungry for success after three consecutive semifinal losses in the Austrian league EBEL. Linz hunts their first CHL win in Turku.

    - We know little to nothing about our opponents, so we are going to focus on our game and our system. As an athlete you always look for new challenges. The Champions Hockey League is a new league and will show us where we stand, Linz's captain Philipp Lukas says.

    Welcome. Game starts at 17:30.
