    The Slovaks are still unbeaten in the World Championship and aims for their third consecutive gold. They managed to defeat the Czech Republic in shootouts with one of the most dramatic games of the tournament in semifinal with two goals from Svitana.

    CANADA

    Canada had an easy way through the playoffs so far. They managed to win 5-1 over Switzerland and then eliminated Greece in semifinal game 5-0. However, they lost to Slovaks in A1 pool game to place first after group stage so they won't be favorite in the gold medal game.

    What an interesting period we had here. The Slovaks scored twice in the first minute of game with Martinusik and Hrivnak. Then Oravec made it 3-0 on power play. Canada pulled one down right after that (Laurencelle) and managed to cash in from their power play as well to make it by one (Martel). They even hit the post twice.

    This game had almost everything. Slovaks scored twice in first minute of the game and later took a 3-0 lead. Then Canada went all the way to turn it in their favor and went ahead by 4 goals to 3. Slovakia managed to tie it up in second period and then took the lead back when Patrik Svitana slapped it in on a late power play. Hrivnak added his second into the empty net and that was it.
     
    Back-to-back-to-back champions! Golden hattrick – that what the Slovaks came for and now they have it.
