Penalty for Frölunda Gothenburg (Nyberg – 2 min., roughing).
The Swedes are getting very close to the CHL quarterfinals. Henrik Tommernes shot the puck from the blue line and JOHAN SUNDSTRON touched it in front of the goalie so it went into the top corner of the goal. Assisted by: Henrik Tommernes.
Nice play by CHRISTOFFER EHN who stole the puck at the blue line, skated towards Vehanen and scored along his right pad. Unassisted.

Good stick play by JOEL LUNDQVIST. The Swedish captain moved the pass from Matthew Donovan towards the right goal post and scored the fourth goal of Frolunda. Assisted by: Matthew Donovan and Casey Wellman.

The visitors are back in a two-goal lead. One of the defenders didn't guard CASEY WELLMAN properly so the Frolunda forward could score after a clever pass to the left post of the goal. Assisted by: Simon Hjamlarsson and Joel Lundqvist.
First goal for the Germans. SVEN ZIEGLER got into a breakaway, got the puck over Gustafsson's catching glove and hit the top corner of the net. Unassisted.
Power play goal and the visitors now have a 2–0 lead. Casey Wellman found JOEL LUNDQVIST with a long pass across the attacking zone and the captain of Frolunda burned Vehanen on the glove side. Assisted by: Casey Wellman and Henrik Tommernes.
The home team defenders left SEBASTIAN STALBERG behind. The Frolunda forward got a clever pass and moved the puck into the goal under Vehanen. Assisted by: Niklas Lasu and Mats Rosseli-Olsen.

The visitors had a harder journey to this series as they lost the very first game of the play-offs 3–2 to Yunost Minsk but they reached the round of 16 in the end thanks to a 5–0 victory against the Belarusian opponent one week later. We can expect that the tournament goal of Frolunda is higher that just the second round of the play-offs because the Swedes are the CHL defending champions.
The home team made the play-offs from group I and faced EV Zug in the first round. The Germans went further after wining 4–0 the first game and 2–1 the return game. However they have already won twice against a Swedish opponent in the group, the hockey public expects a tough series with Frolunda for Berlin.
