JYP is pushing hard. Can BRN hold on to the lead?

After a big hit against Blum (BRN) a fight erupts in the middle of the field. No penalties are given.

JYP Coach Virtanen is delaying the game by talking to the ref. The crowd in the PostFinance-Arena doesn't like that at all.

Genoni with a uncertainty behind the goal. He nearly gave the puck away.

The game gets more physical right now.

Good chance for Kanninen but Genoni stops the puck comfortably.

BRN is managing the lead very good. JYP doesn't get too many chances.

Chances on both side but nothing too dangerous.

Bodenmann gets through to Tuokkola but can't get the puck into the net.

Not much to talk about right now. both teams are neutralising each other.

BRN is also back in JYPs third and won't leave as well. The game is very open right now.

The pressure is building in front of Genoni. JYP won't leave BRNs third.

JYP is slowly getting back to their game. BRN is doing a good job in defending.

That should had been the 4 goal for BRN. Ebbett misses the puck in front of Tuokkola.

What a turnaround by BRN. JYP seems to be shocked. Another good chance for BRN by Plüss. Tuokkola holds on to the puck as hard as he can.

What a game changer!! BRN used two situations where JYP didn't defend consistent. Now both teams are going for it again.

BRN can loosen up the pressure a bit and gets some chance of their own.

Back to serious hockey now. JYP is pushing again. BRN doesn't leave their own third that much.

Some funny moments in the game – First Tuokkola drops his stick by mistake and then the ref comes flying. The audience is having a laugh.

JYP is playing cat and mouse with BRN. They're keeping the puck among themself and stop BRN from powering back into the game this way.

BRN is creating much more space for themself. So far without any profit.

The Bear is waking up. Two fairly good chances for BRN in the last minutes.

Big chance for Moser (BRN). He gets the puck in front of Tuokkola and shots about 3 times, without any luck. BRN is playing more physical now.

JYP is attacking BRN very early. The swiss team has big troubles getting out of their own third.

No time to breath for both teams. The tempo is very high tonight. Maybe a bit to high for BRN in the first few minutes, that's why they were too late and took 2 penalties which both resulted in goals for JYP.

How can BRN respond to those two early goals. First thing to do is to stop taking penalties.

Once again a tricky situation for BRN. A silly penalty by Plüss gives JYP another two minutes in PP.

No time to easily get into to the game. Both teams are already pushing the tempo.

It's a fairly big crowd already and there are still people coming into the stadium. It looks like it's going to be a good hockey spectacle. 3 minutes till the puck drops.

SC Bern are the form side going into the Last 16 of the CHL, with five wins on the bounce in the NLA having moved them well up the table into second. The team have also cruised through the CHL so far with only one draw stopping an otherwise perfect record – however JYP will be their first real test after facing opposition from Austria and Slovakia to date. The Finns have won their last two Liiga matches to just sneak into the top ten there, however in the CHL they’ve been a bit hot and cold – eliminating Skelleftea 6-4 in the last round but losing the return leg, and having lost both matches to Linkoping in the group stage while beating Rouen.

“JYP might not be so well known, but they’re a top team, and I’m expecting they’ll put us under a lot of pressure even in our arena,” confessed SCB netminder Leonardo Genoni. “At this stage of the tournament you only come up against good teams. I’ve loved the CHL so far, and the trips to away matches have strengthened our team spirit too”.
